| HOME | Local rules for the
Pickwick Pool Team. (i) The team funds incur
all expenses over a season. Which means that the players are left
to concentrate on the pool. A weekly subscription of £1 (only if you
are selected to play) should be paid to our treasurer. (ii)
Expect to referee the next frame after completion of your frame at the
table. (iii) At
home matches a fund raising card is sold. This task is normally shared
equally over a season, between the whole squad, the captain is
exempt. Any player who loses a frame on the night , may be a candidate
to sell the card. Expect to sell at least one card per season, but
possibly more if you become a regular loser. (iv)
Players not involved with the match in
progress, are expected to show support to teammates and remain in the vicinity
of the table. Respect your teammate, respect your opponent. (v)
Players who cannot attend, or expect to arrive late for
matches are expected to contact the captain personally to inform them.
Do not pass the message on to another player to tell the captain when
they arrive. You may not the be the only player absent or late, and this
way the captain knows exactly who is expected to be present. (vi)
Losing is not permitted !
Polo shirts are available. Players already presented with shirts can acquire additional shirts at £10 each. To order contact Paul Gafa'. LOOK SMART, PLAY SMART. New players will be awarded their team shirt (1 free of charge), on completion of 2 winter seasons of pool, or sooner should they win a league or 'in house' trophy. The FPSL is affiliated to the English Pool Association (EPA), who are the governing body for pool in this country. To view the playing rules access www.epa.org.uk. The current playing rules used by the FSPL are now out of date, and in fact no longer used by the EPA. It is hoped that these rules will be superceeded by "world rules". Both sets of rules can be viewed on the link above, together with all relevant matters and tournaments concerning pool within England. The FSPL are affiliated to Greater London County Pool Association who play in Region 7, and our members come under this umbrella. The SLKPA is affiliated to the Greater London County Pool Association. Any players who are interested in representing this league at interleague matches should contact Paul Gafa' or Martyn Wallace (Intrleague Captain) for more information. |
