Matches take place on Monday & Wednesday evenings. With 8 players in a division, whereby players will play roughly once a fortnight with matches roughly alternating between Mondays and Wednesdays.

If you aren't fortunate enough to play for the Pickwick but would like to get involved contact

PICKWICK SINGLES LEAGUE
 Amended October 2011

Hereafter known as the “PSL”
PSL2                 Entry fee £15              Champion £60            Runner up £35            Play Off Winner £25

RULES:
1. Matches:
All matches to take place at the Pickwick PH.
Matches to be played to the current EPA rules, i.e “World Rules”.
Table will be on free play.
Matches consist of 12 frames and should commence no later than 8:30pm.
Matches will be scheduled to take place on Monday and Wednesday evenings.
The two participating match players have access to the table alone from 8:30pm.
Players should lag for first break, and players then break alternatively.
No catch up matches can be played when league matches are scheduled unless the scheduled match has been postponed, and the table pre booked with the organiser.
2. Scoring & Points:
Each frame won will score 1 point.
A 1 point bonus will be awarded for every frame won by virtue of breaking and clearing all the balls in 1 visit. The 1 point bonus will not be awarded if it is preceded by an opponent’s foul break.
The top two players with the most points at the end of the season will be crowned champion and runner up and awarded the nominated prize.
All other players that have completed all their matches but were unsuccessful will be entered into a seeded end of season play off. Seedings will depend on final league position.
Any player failing to show for a match without contacting his opponent will commence the rescheduled match with a 2-0 deficit.
A default win will be 8-0.
Players failing to rearrange missed matches will score 0 points for that match.
Players should complete a score sheet from the folder provided behind the bar and return it there completed and signed. This is the official record of the match in case of any dispute. Players are responsible for their match sheets.
The winning (for draw, lowest numbered on fixture list) player should text the match result to the organiser immediately after the match.
In the event of two or more players finishing level on points, frame difference, then most wins, then most draws, then the most break & clears, then the head to head scores, (or amount of won frames if 3 players or more involved) will be used to separate the players. If this fails then a play off may be used to separate them.
3. Miscellaneous:

Any player unable to play a match must contact their opponent no later than 7pm on the scheduled date. The offending player should arrange to catch this match up on a free week, and also book the table with the organiser to avoid double bookings.
Players who aren’t present by 9pm without prior notification will be considered as a no show.
Catch up weeks/dates will included in the schedule for any unavoidable times that players cannot attend a match.
Any player found to be involved in any match score fixing or other skullduggery will be expelled from the league.
The date for the play off will be decided by the organiser.
The organiser’s decision is final.
These rules may be modified at any time to benefit the PSL and ensure its smooth running.
