PICKWICK POOL TEAM

06/11/25: A proper battle away at the Falconwood Club as the Pickwick enter a period of games that is likely to shape our season, playing teams that are in and around us. We managed to get ahead for the majority of the match but couldn't put our opponents to bed as they continued to fight back. The frames were scrappy affairs with perhaps the only firework of the evening being Cobbs clearance in frame 5. We won the first two sets 3-2, but eventually the score levelled up at 7 each. We weren't looking favourites to win the last frame with the black hanging and our balls surrounding it, but a fouled black from the opponent allowed us to escape with a win by the narrowest of margins 8-7. The Gypsy recorded 2/2 whilst Gaf and Cobb plundered frames where they could both getting 2/3. An important win and more hard work needed in the next few weeks.
