27/06/24: This week's match away to the Bears could be pivotal to our season with both teams embroilled in a bun fight at the bottom end of the table. The game swayed one way then then other with neither team able to take control. The first set was lost on a decider, and we were under the cosh. A good start in the second set saw the Pickwick lead 2-0, surely this set was ours..... nope. At 6-4 down and two sets adrift we needed to dig deep to turn this potential disaster into a salvage mission. The Pickwick stood up and fought back. The Gypsy cleared, potting an awkward black. Gaf made all the balls under pressure. Cobb nicked one when perhaps he shouldn't have, leaving Louis to hold his nerve to mop up what was left on the table, to give the Pickwick the last set and a 8-7 frames won bonus point. The Gyspy headlined our display with 2/2, and Gaf chipped in with couple of wins. So the spoils were shared, two points each, and these two points keep Pickwick just north of the drop zone at the halfway stage of the season.

The infamous pole that restricted cueing. Probably the MVP in the majority of the Pickwick's home match victories. Such an iconic landmark in the SE London pool scene that the pole has since become embraced as the team's logo.
