PICKWICK POOL TEAM

19/03/26: The curtain came down on the Pickwick's season in the Founders Cup semi final at the Meridian Pool Lounge. Hotshots were drawn out of the hat as our opponents, but there was no easy draw no matter who we got. We won the lag and started strong. Cobb won a frame with some great defence and counter-attack pool with the black hanging over a pocket blocking his balls. Louis relaxed and stroked the balls around and the Gypsy cleared up as we led after the first set 3-2. A couple of missed half chances coupled with our opponents putting on the pressure saw us lose the next 3, but Louis was looking sharp at the table. The second set meant that the Hotshots had their noses in front at 6-4. We knew we had to get momentum going early in set 3. Unfortunately only Louis again, with an outstanding performance, registered another win as we bowed out of the cup 8-5.
