27/03/25: The last match of the winter season and it was the Pickwick who took the Silver Salver trophy home in the final against Hurricanes Reborn. On paper it was a mis-match between a Premier Division team and a Second Division team but the Hurricanes showed a little bit of fight as the match wore on. The Pickwick did the damage in the first set with the Gyspy and Gaf both knocking the black in without too many visits. Cobb followed up to add another. Frame five saw the Piledriver controversially sneak in the 8 ball with the ref in close attendance, to finish the first set with a healthy 4-1 lead. This became 6-1 with Louis and Luffers scrapping away to add to the total. The Pilderiver bagged a brace and Bedtime fell over the line to seal an 8-4 victory and a job well done by our boys.
Player of the year went to Dray as did the Most Singles trophy (34 wins). Not bad for a debut season.
The original venue.
The infamous pole that restricted cueing. Probably the MVP in the majority of the Pickwick's home match victories. Such an iconic landmark in the SE London pool scene that the pole has since become embraced as the team's logo.
The Pickwick Public House is now closed, and being converted to flats with a licenced premises situated within.
The Pickwick's home venue is now Blackheath Newbridge Social Club.
